Automatic Service Agreement Negotiators in Open Commerce Environments
نویسندگان
چکیده
There is a steady shift in e-commerce from goods to services that must be provisioned according to service agreements. This study focuses on software frameworks to develop automated negotiators in open commerce environments. Analysis of the literature on automated negotiation and typical case studies led to a catalog of 16 objective requirements and a conceptual model that was used to compare 11 state-of-the-art software frameworks. None of them was well suited for negotiating service agreements in open commerce environments. This motivated work on a reference architecture that provides the foundations to develop negotiation systems that address the previous requirements. A software framework was devised to validate the proposal by means of case studies. The study contributes to the fields of requirements engineering and software design, and is expected to support future efforts of practitioners and researchers because its findings bridge the gap among the existing automated negotiation techniques and lay the foundations for developing new software frameworks.

A Market-Based Multi-Issue Negotiation Model Considering Multiple Preferences in Dynamic E-Marketplaces
Electronic commerce has been a significant commercial phenomenon in recent years and autonomous agents have made the advantages of e-markets more distinct. However, as e-market environments become open and dynamic, existing agent negotiation approaches expose some limitations. Static negotiation strategies and offer evaluation approaches might fail to capture dynamic changes of market situation...
متن کاملFacilitating the Evaluation of Automated Negotiators using Peer Designed Agents
Computer agents are increasingly deployed in settings in which they make decisions with people, such as electronic commerce, collaborative interfaces, and cognitive assistants. However, the scientific evaluation of computational strategies for human-computer decision-making is a costly process, involving time, effort and personnel. This paper investigates the use of Peer Designed Agents (PDA)—c...
متن کاملMediation, Agreement and Gratitude in Strategic Planning for Virtual Organisations
For the mass media, Electronic Commerce is mainly marked by catalogue sales, being the idea of negotiation left behind. On the other hand, true Electronic Commerce can only be achieved if non-linearities, like agreement, past-experiences and gratitude are considered. The network of interests established among the entities that make an enterprise, merged with enterprise-wide information systems,...
متن کاملSynthesis of Services in Open Commerce Environments
This paper addresses the issue of integrating several technologies for realising electronic commerce solutions that go beyond the current state-of-the-art. Integration enables synthesis of services offered by multiple diverse autonomous service providers. This is achieved in the framework provided by the Aurora architecture for network-centric applications. This architecture complements the COR...
متن کاملMeasuring of Strategies' Similarity in Automated Negotiation
—Negotiation is a process between self-interested agents in ecommerce trying to reach an agreement on one or multi issues. The outcome of the negotiation depends on several parameters such as the agents' strategies and the knowledge one agent has about the opponents. One way for discovering opponent's strategy is to find the similarity between strategies. In this paper we present a simple model...
